Our Favorite Places: St. George (Tenants Harbor, Port Clyde & Spruce Head)

We want to give you a warm welcome to our hometown of St. George, Maine! The town includes Tenants Harbor, Port Clyde and Spruce Head, and this stunning area of the Midcoast is home to some of our favorite restaurants and bars. Check them out, and you may just run into us!

Ancho Honey

Fletcher grew up with the owner, Malcolm, who is an incredible chef. You won’t won’t want to miss this incredible food joint. In addition to delicious restaurant options, they also sell quick, heat-at-home comfort food and to-go specials from the test kitchen.

McCloons

This family-owned Maine lobster shack on Spruce Head Island (don’t worry, no boat needed!) allows you to enjoy picturesque views of the harbor and surrounding island all while enjoying the freshest seafood the Atlantic has to offer.

The Causeway @ The Craignair Inn

Fun fact: Fletcher’s first job was waitressing here, where she had to wear a pinafore! Although it has new owners, they’re still serving incredible food, drinks and views that aren’t to be missed. Next time you’re in Spruce Head, make sure you stop by.

The Barn

This wonderful cocktail bar in the heart of Port Clyde is a true catchall. With a tapas menu, Maine craft beer and specialty cocktails, it’s sure to become your new favorite place.

The Clam and Outback Saloon

This is the go-to place for authentic German food, located right in Tenants Harbor. They recently added the Outback Saloon — a fun, open air bar with live music that includes a jam fest on Wednesdays, so get your guitars and keyboards ready!

The Harpoon

An iconic fixture in Port Clyde, this relaxed bar has fantastic, homemade food, and locally sourced seafood. It’s no surprise so many of the locals are regulars here.
